Tamilnadu is located on the southern part of India. It is bounded by the Bay of Bengal on the east, and by Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh states on the other three sides.

Temple: Lord Shiva's shrine is facing west. The scupltures of Chola king Kandarathithan and his queen Chembian Mahadevi are found inside the temple. The sculpture of Natarajar inside the temple is an intricately carved image and is a beauty by itself. Bhooma Devi is said to have worshipped at this sthalam. There is also a sivlingam shrine known as Vaitheeswarar. Other shrines in this temple are for Dakshinamurthy, Sooriyan and Chandiran.
